Urban Putt

1096 South Van Ness Avenue

Located in the heart of San Francisco's Mission district, Urban Putt is the City's first and only indoor miniature golf course. Urban Putt offers guests a fun, only-in-San Francisco experience with top-notch food and drinks, and a fantastical, high-tech 14-hole mini-golf course. Steve Fox-along with a dream team of industrial designers, robotics engineers, welders and artists-has created a technically sophisticated playground for people of all ages, where imagination has free reign and all of the senses are engaged. A vibrant and unique venue, Urban Putt is an equally perfect destination for a sporting round of mini-golf, family outing, sit-down dinner, company party, special event, or drinks with friends.

Urban Putt is housed in an historic Victorian building that had previously sat vacant since 1999, and was a mortuary for many years prior. While preserving many of the building's historic elements, Urban Putt has enlisted the help of local designers, artists and engineers to transform the space to reflect a design concept that is part Jules Vern, part Rube Goldberg, and all imagination.

Urban Putt's full-service restaurant upstairs, UP @ Urban Putt, serves eclectic California comfort cuisine under the leadership of Chef Dane Boryta, who has created a menu for UP that celebrates the American palate with an emphasis on the best organic and locally-sourced ingredients available. Food is available at two bars, one upstairs and one next to the course, and on the mini-golf green as well as at UP.

The bar program at Urban Putt, designed by Colin Carroll, features a creative and refreshing menu of beer and wine, as well as full slate of inventive cocktails.

Really creative course design. In general I really liked the vibe they create. It can be pretty busy though, so maybe try to avoid peak hours if you mind crowds. Definitely worth the price for the mini golf though... It's just so cute ^.^

Really cool place right in the Mission, the indoor mini golf course features lots of cool rube-goldberg like contraptions, which I loved. The whole course was decorated thoroughly, and there were some holes that were like nothing I've ever seen before! (I'd go into more detail but I don't want to spoil it) while it's not the most challenging mini golf course ever, it's a ton of fun. And late on weekends you can bring drinks served at their bar onto the course! Would totally recommend. Good for groups or on a date.

Amazingly creative mini golf holes packed into a relatively small space. We got there later than planned after driving around looking for parking for 40 mins. Staff were nice enough to let my 12.5 year old son in. Super appreciated. Not much space to stand while waiting for people to finish the previous hole. Great artistic and engineering elements around each hole. They also have a bar and restaurant on site. Would definitely recommend. It's worth hunting down a parking spot.

This is crazy cool. Very steam punk style gold holes. There are times you have no idea where your ball went and there it is winding around some maze contraption. It was really busy and really a cool idea. I didn't try the food or drinks but there are plenty. If I had a negative it would be that there were tight quarters around the 14 holes so don't expect a vast amount of space. Very compact and very cool.

A really cool place to play mini golf! I went here for a friends birthday and they were really nice and had great service! The food was also delicious. Most of us were a little hot because it was a bit humid upstairs and downstairs though. But besides that awesome place!
